I did think that was a weird choice too. I was planning to do an age gap Rook just for the drama, but not being able to play my actual age at all feels weird when some of the skins seem to be older looking. At least old enough to get annoyed that everyone keeps calling you “kid”.
That’s why I tried to stress I was hoping to bring the brain trust together for potential fixes for all the romances. Lucanis is getting the most flak, and I am definitely part of the problem, but I’m sure there’s tons of little things I haven’t seen in the other romances that could use some adjusting.
Really hoping that they listen to some of these concerns :( The romances were heavily marketed pre release and to have them pan out this way is a letdown

Yep, that's because BioWare knows it's what draws the majority of fans to the game, you only need to look at the art, the stories, the mods to see the truth, so it really feels like we've been lied to. These romances are more Mass Effect style than Dragon Age. In fact, the whole game feels like it's been ported on to the ME2 gameplay style. For Dragon Age, it's always been flirt in act 1, romance in act 2, and declaration of love or something like that in act 3. Instead we get lukewarm conversations and no actual romance until the end.

Oh! You are so right... I have felt Mass Effect 2 all through this game. The only thing they did in this game that they gave up the courage to do in ME2 is to include Taash's storyline. ME2 had some things they were going to do, then scrapped it all because they got scared that America wasn't ready for it - but, that's water under the bridge.
