Do preorder games come in a box

Looking at Vanguard, wanting to ask a simple question of the company but apparently I have to ask in the forum only.

If one preorders does in come in a box or does one only get a download access ? Being 'old school' I'd not really be interested in download only.

TIA

(Supplementary question. How long is a registration valid before the company deletes it ? Seriously  if they take forever to bring out the next version, the registrations should be left alone at least that long.)

(Good grief ! Before submitting I thought I'd change from US English to English. Tried to scroll down and it decided to choose Portuguese instead for some reason, and then immediately threw me out from here ! Luckily the back button allowed me back and the text still existed. The company needs to fix that.)

  • @58ab0c102c9d6ddc It'd be really nice if a list of questions one has made were available so there wasn't the concern that one might not find one's own post again. If there is, I've yet to stumble upon it. Nightmare navigating this place on a mobile.

@58ab0c102c9d6ddc Depends on what and where do you order from. PlayStation and Xbox versions have physical and digital versions. You'll have to check the details in the store page from where you're ordering from.

In case of PC, it will most likely be a digital version. It's rather rare now for PC to get a phycal release. Again, you'll have to check the store page from where you're ordering from if it's a physical or digital version.

Much has to do with media capacity. Blu-Ray disks hold more, but modern games are making the possibility to have the whole game on a disk problematic.

I remember my (original) Baldur's Gate coming on 5 CDs, though I see no enthusiasm from publishers to go down that road.

PC is (as has been said) in an even worse position because DVDs tend to be used and so digital is the only way, even if that download code ships in a box.

  • Thanks for the responses  both.

It'd be for the PC. And the offer seen was from EA.

Maybe the preorder offer isn't for me then. Plus if it doesn't come boxed I may well give it a miss anyway, despite years of waiting. Ah well, c'est la vie.
