Strange lines on the screen, PC, 4k

Tons of users has the same problem with Veilguard on PC with 4k screen. Oleds, Qleds, newer IPS and other LCD-s are all affected.
Its not a bad setting or hardware related issue, we tried everything including settings INgame settings INwindows settings INtv settings. Neither helped.

I have a 77" LG Oled C4. Rtx 4090, win11 23H2. Zero issues with any other games. In this game, the smallest movement of camera and the screen is filled with diagonal lines especially in darker scenes. As again its not bad settings or faulty screens, there are tons of users on reddit with the problem. HDR On / Off is the same. The real solution is, to decrease the resolution from 4k or set 60hz vsync 1/2 (got 30fps), they are minimalize the problem..... Thats a joke, and EA Support not reacted since a week.... We think its a problem with Nvidia drivers (but again NO other games affected with this problem) OR problem within the game. Is there anyone with AMD card with the same issue?

  • @HUN_VityooFor what counts, I have intel A770 and didn't encounter this kind of problem - 1440p /60Hz borderless mode. I use a form of v-sync to limit fps to 60 when gets higher or disable it when gets lower.
    If you care for a test, try xess for upscale method (instead of dlss) at ultra quality plus, see if the problem persist. Also you can play a bit with settings for ambient occlusion (on different machine and different game I had same problem caused by additional shadow dropped by AO).

    @sweetpoison0011 Thanks for your reply.
    As im wrote its just affected 4k. I tried everything. Only lowering resolution helped a lot.

    @HUN_Vityoo

    This looks like a dithering issue, and it seems it only appear with specific monitor configurations.
    This might be extremely hard to replicate for Bioware.

    Do you use HDR?

    Yeah im using 4k, full graph settings with HDR. But the issue is here if turning off HDR in the game and in win11....
    Tried every graph settings, not helped. The only solution is to drop te resolution to 2k. Its minimalize the lines.
    Its not hw related issue, every other games running fine without this problem. The problem is on almost every newer 4k oled and qled.

    Do a test for me please. Set up the game resolution to 2560x1440 (2k) and increase rendering resolution to 150% which means 4k. See how the final image looks like. In terms of quality and performance should be no difference between 4k@100% and 2k@150% but it might get the lines off.

    Tried. Same problem.
    I wrote it wrong.  Dropping resolution to 2k is not a fix to the problem but making the lines less visionable... With 2k@150% is better than 4k but still visionable lines on screen when moving the camera.

    I'm pretty sure this is an artistic shader choice. Alan Wake 2 also does this in it's darker areas. I think it's meant to be a bioware style thing, I'm actually curious how the devs went about choosing this? I kinda like it
