Oh didn't see this - FUNNY STORY, like an hour after I last replied I went "Alright let's tinker," and I'm not even sure how I got it to work, but I did.
In order: loaded the last stable save, made another save, loaded that one, turned off...oh what was it..."AMD FSR" because someone suggested that fixed their issue. Tried the cut scene, still crashed. Remembered to turn off the Cloud save feature on Steam because you said that was a possible suspect. Loaded back in, did the new-save load-the-new-save thing again, reverted my graphics settings to Medium from where I guess I got them stuck on Low one of the last times I tried to get it to work, nerfed the difficulty setting back from Keeper to Storyteller (the only other difference between the playthroughs that worked, and this one), turned AMD FSR back on...it said of course that the game would have to restart to apply the medium settings so I figured well ok, it'll do that when it crashes...and then...
...the cut scene didn't crash. It didn't even stutter. I have absolutely no explanation for this, but it worked like there had never been anything wrong, and I finished that playthrough a few days ago. 🤷 Haven't gotten up to the once-problem scene yet in the new playthrough but we'll see if it still plays fine when I do. I wish I could tell ya how or why it worked or which of the minimal, shot-in-the-dark button pokes I did caused it to, but...I don't know? Some kind of data, I guess?
