Game Constantly Switching from Controller to Keyboard Controls

I dont know why but k was good for a few days and now its doing it again. Looking at my computer updates i have a hunch its related to updates as i saw microsoft had an update on the 15th and one today on the 19th, when things started going wonky again. Intried unistalling the updates and it did nothing, i reinstalled them and nothing. I have done every overlay option in steam as well in between and tried multiple controllera of different systems. Unsure how the microsoft updates could be reaking so much havoc.

The last couple of MS updates caused issues amongst a wide range of games, platforms, and programs. Since our games are PC, this is monitored. What we could do at this point is start over with installs.

Make sure all of Windows is updated first
Uninstall any Xbox programs - Game Pass, Accessories app, Xbox One Smart Glass if you have it.
Then do a fresh install of them once Windows is completely updated with a GPU update.

If it was at one point, there may be something conflicting with the config set up.

Once you're set, plug in the controller if it's an Xbox controller, go to the Accessories app, and update the controller. One PS controller, make sure you have the PlayStation Accessories app installed and update the controller.

This made things worse for me and the nintendo pro stopped working all together.

I havent been able to play since the 16th with over 50 hours into the game and caput.

Reset your settings in Steam, the issue isn't because of that. I also play with the Nintendo Pro and disabling settings caused the same issues for me like not working at all. 

It appeared that (for me) the actual reason was the new Windows update from november. After unistalling that I have been able to play without issues for hours now. Hope it helps for you too :)

Rosie_the_Rogue Let us know if this works out for you. Im keeping tabs on controllers. I am testing the PS5 one but can't report it with the Nintendo controller, so it makes it harder when you cannot repro the issue.
