Save file load error and rook appearance bug persist after latest patch

Launching the game and hitting continue will without fail display a load error message. Any autosaves I try to load after that will then show the preset used in character creator and not my character. Reloading saves over and over again sometimes fixes the issue. It happens everytime I launch the game. Can't rely on my manual saves, can't keep my rook from becoming a stranger. Starting to question why I'm still trying to play this game.

    Good to know they can’t bothered to fix problems that prevent you from playing.

        Even better is that reporting the problem through the EA app results in an error. This has happened days apart. It's like they don't want to hear about problems.

    I have this issue as well. I'm really unhappy about how this problem hasn't been addressed yet. A good number of people seem to be affected and it's far from the only major bug.  I really enjoy this game and want to play it, it's just not working.

      Yes I'm losing hours of progress and its genuinely not worth it to keep playing like this.

    I'm not receiving the error save, but the game will auto save on top of my manual save. When I start my manual save, it'll show the character creator preset rather than my Rook, so I have to load that save twice or use the odd autosave and then my Rook will load. It's incredibly annoying.

      Yes this is aggravating the problem for me. Only autosaves seem to remember what your character looks like but everytime you load a new one or a manual save the game automatically makes a new autosave. So it ends up giving me a finite amount of autosaves to TRY to fix the issue. Didn't like a dialogue choice you made earlier? Too bad you have 4 attempts to reload a save file before we've completely overridden everything you could've used!

    So I found a work around for the save file error, I think.

    I made two manual saves to see if I could avoid the appearance bug issue, but that resulted in those and a few auto save files being corrupted for two hours back. I ended up deleting the manual saves because they weren't working, but I found after loading an old save and then loading the newest auto save file I had (thankfully wasn't too far off from what my manual saves were), it was restored as well as the other previously corrupted/not working autosaves. Albeit it was still loading the character creator sim, so I went to the mirror in Varric's room to reset my appearance (if it has your custom appearance saved there and in your character menu, just not in the actual game - but double check) and it's been working so far. 

    Shouldn't have to do this, but I hope it helps for the time being until they patch it...
