Shadows of Minrathous bug

When I enter the anvellanim and the path is obstructed by the blight I follow the glowing vein to the room next to it where according to walkthroughs there should be a blight bulb to destroy as usual for this puzzle type but there is no bulb at the end of the vein and I am unable to progress
