How do you create game shortcut on EA Desktop APP?

How do you create a game shortcut on EA Desktop APP?

I'm not talking about Origin here either, whenever I install a game on there new application I never see an option to create desktop and start menu shortcuts. If someone can let me know if that even is an option I would be grateful.

  • Hi everyone,

With the latest update we added the functionality where you can create a desktop shortcut when installing a game.

    What do you think?

@BARON_Patatoz That's kinda strange, I will test on other games then. It works for Titanfall 2 for me (EA Play included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate)

  • Now you can create shortcut, you need to go to the game folder (Titanfall 2 as example), find Titanfall2.exe and create shortcut, by launching exe or shortcut EA Desktop App will be launched automatically

  • @DrearyDreamzYou can be right in that there isn't an option to add a shortcut while installing a game through the EA Desktop app. I'm not in position to say either way, but it could be by design. Perhaps the thought was that you would be using the app to launch the games anyway, so there is no need to add a functionality of creating launch shortcuts for the games to desktop and/or Start menu.

I guess you should voice your opinion on this in the Feedback forum so that it might be considered a feature to be added.

In the meantime, you can do a bit of work yourself and use file explorer to navigate to the install location of the game, and manually create the shortcut to the game executable.
