I don't like this app.

I bought ME:LE on Steam. I want to play it but I heard the EA app was buggy, ate money, and had privacy concerns. I thought to myself: "That sounds right about in line with EA." So I used the Origin workaround for a while until you guys dropped Origin. Now I can't play Mass Effect without being taxed somehow. Even though I already bought the game. I just won't then. You took away Mass Effect just like you took away the studio that made it. I miss EA from the 90's. I wish you guys cared about people and not just money. You won't get any more from me.

  • I have had issues with EA app ever since the betas, but not in the form of monetary transactions.
What bugs me the most is that the game overlay is not working in titles that was made with Origin in mind. Games such as Dragon Age Inquisition and Mass Effect 3 will never display the overlay, even if its life depended on it, but newer EA titles from Mass Effect Andromeda and onwards DOES work with the overlay. It also works fine in Sims, and I have tried every fix in the book for the older titles, but to no avail. This is extremely frustrating to deal with, and the reason why I stopped playing DAI:MP when Origin stopped working for good, because (surprise, surprise) the overlay worked fine with Origin.

sighs ... it was so much easier with Origin, where you could invite friends and join games from the friends list, like you can with every single other game launcher. Come on EA, we are in 2025.

Also, what is up with the 99 friends limit? Origin supported like 400 at least.

    Hey there Bananastickr ,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, though I want to take a moment to clear up a few misconceptions.

First, if you purchased Mass Effect: Legendary Edition on Steam, it remains in your Steam library. We don’t remove games from players' libraries, especially not ones we didn’t sell through the EA app to begin with. If you're hitting a wall trying to launch the game, it’s likely due to a connectivity or integration issue—frustrating, yes, but in most cases absolutely fixable.

We also understand that switching platforms (like Origin to the EA app) hasn’t always been seamless for everyone. That said, the forums are meant to be a place for support and constructive discussion, not just venting frustration or writing the digital equivalent of throwing the controller across the room.

If you want help getting ME:LE running again, we’d love the chance to help you sort it. But we can only do that if you give us something actionable to work with—details, steps you've tried, error messages, etc.

    We’re here when you’re ready.
