No this will never be fixed. This was done deliberately.
I'd settle for a forced log in once a week if they really need to keep tabs on us.

How does one acres it? I have no internet at the moment but whenever I launch Sims 4, I just get an ea cant connect box.

Can we please get this fixed? I get this is some exec's "solution" to piracy, but this is how you get piracy. Because THIS is how you push people towards pirating your games. When I can't play Sims 4, an offline game I've spent well over a hundred bucks on, because I don't have internet access, you're literally forcing me to go looking for bootleg solution in order to access content I've ALREADY PAID for.
This is INSANE. I'm on a plane? Can't play. My ISP goes down? Can't play. Am on a road trip? Sucks for me, I guess! Meanwhile, pirates are laughing their * off in your face, and mine.
Also fix the fact that I can't be logged in on two places at once. What kind of asinine bs is that? I have a gaming PC, a Macbook Pro, a Steam Deck, and a ROG Ally. I'm logged into my Steam, GOG, and XBOX accounts on all of them (the XBOX account includes two Series X, on top of all that), and literally NONE of them have complained ONCE that I'm already logged in someplace else. But if I so much as open my macbook while Origin's running, well, I'm lucky if I only have to input my credentials on one of them, because sometimes it'll log me out of both.
Y'all really gotta get your ship together.
PS: ROFL at forcing the massive downgrade EA app on PC while keeping the much better Origin on mac.
- @KateThxBai If I didn't know better, I'd swear that EA is trying to go out of business.
Personally, I uninstalled the app some time ago and have been researching ways to crack my purchased games. It's not theft if I already own them. - KateThxBai3 years agoSeasoned Novice
@Ibn-DragonsNo, for real. I hope they're reading this. I was so flippin' close to buying the brand new horse ranch DLC - SO CLOSE - but then I remembered how yesterday the EA servers went down right as I got off work, and I couldn't play the single player game that I've spent so much money on. It's beyond parody.
But they won't go out of business, and they won't listen to us. As long as they hold the licenses to the sport franchises, they'll be fine. Good thing they lost exclusivity to the Star Wars IP though.
- @KateThxBai Yep, the sports franchises are keeping them afloat...for now.
I purchased Mass Effect from the Steam Store. Because I purchased it through Steam, I should be able to play it without launching another service, or if I must, I should be able to start it in offline mode. I use my Steam Deck to play ME, but because of your terrible app that wont load after starting it twice, I'm required to uninstall it AND the game, taking several hours to reinstall them both (fortunately my saves get uploaded to the cloud). I had hoped that your NEWER app would be at least a little more advanced, but it's clear you took a step back instead since you can't even load offline mode right, which would fix many of our issues, I would hope including mine. I will not be buying any more games from you on your store or published elsewhere until this issue is fixed.

I play Sims 4 in a modded game. It means that when I go online I have research every mod and creator. There is no way I can do that every month, are you mad!
I got the Horse pack because I could play offline and thought that I had access to my game that I had spent so so much money on. I am apparently a fool because I have to spend two nights a month clearing mods in the evening in order to play a modded Sims 4 game. Does that sound reasonable to you?? As a hobby. I am a mom, I lead activities for kids, and the I get a few hours to myself when I would like to play the game that I paid for only. If I can log on in offline I could do that.
I will not be spending more money on the Sims 4 and I recommend players who like to mod their games and stay offline to start looking for alternative hobbies.
- @pulseIm I don't understand why they are so desperate for us to be online that they are willing to drive away dedicated players. What are they so desperate for? User data? The ability to advertise at us? It makes no sense at all.

If they can make a quick buck through advertising just by us being constantly online, then selling our info the highest bidder, why wouldn't a money hunger company do it? From their point of view (probably), a few disgruntled customers is a small price to pay.
