Just a rant

Awhile back I reported a bug I was having with Dine out. Eventually, it was classified "not a bug" then changed to "declined" Well, IT WAS a bug because it was fixed. My original problem was if I sent a couple or a family to dinner together the only Sim that could sit at the table was the one that requested the table. So, the date or the rest of the family could only sit if they requested their own table. I am happy it was fixed but why was it classified "not a bug" then changed to "declined" ? EaCade even said it was by design and was supposed to be like that. Really? No one can sit together? And if it wasn't a bug, why was it fixed?

Anyway, I know at this point I am just ranting but this has made me hesitant to report any bugs now. I feel as though I am just going to look dumb and like I don't know what I'm doing if they keep classifying things I report as "not a bug" then "declined" .

Sorry for the rant, but this hasn't set well with me, especially when they closed the thread and I couldn't even respond.

    Hey there BarNCull

Thanks for reaching back out and sharing your feedback on this! I can help clarify what happened with your original bug report- we investigated into your report and found that this is a current design choice.

If your Sims go out and travel together, but your Sims are not in a group, they will not always sit together or perform actions together. To form a group and ensure your Sims are all interacting together when going out, you can click each Sim, and select Actions-> Form Group. This will allow your Sims to all sit together and interact without each Sim wandering off to perform their own actions.

As for reporting any other bugs you're experiencing, please don't hesitate to continue to let us know what you're seeing! If something doesn't look right in your game, we want to know about it so we can investigate. If we set an issue in a declined status, that certainly doesn't mean it shouldn't have been reported, it means we've taken a look at your report, investigated, and determined it's by design, or not classified as a bug. We'll then provide an explanation for why the report was declined. This is not to discourage you from reporting issues, but rather to provide more details on what you reported.

When we've determined something is not a bug, you are more than welcome to provide feedback on that particular design choice, which we'll then send to the Maxis teams for further review.

We do have more information on how the bug forum functions and what each status means that you can look over in the article here. We've also recently shared a behind the scenes explanation on the process of identifying and resolving bugs in this post that can give you more details.

I'm happy to hear the original issue you reported is now resolved for you, and if you have more feedback you'd like to share on this, we'd love to hear it!
