Adding a lot of info in case anyone else is googling this issue.
I'm missing:
- The Sims 3 High-End Loft Stuff
- The Sims 3 Late Night Expansion Pack
- The Sims 4 EA Play Edition (which I've never owned)
- The Sims 4
So I opened the app to update it, did so and then decided to uninstall a completely unrelated game (MySims). When that finished uninstalling I had that black bar in my library saying "Games have been removed from your library. View details for more information." and I see the aforementioned games telling me the reason is "an unlisted reason". No bans or anything in my EA account.
I thought it was just the app having issues like usual so I tried;
- restarting the app
- clearing the cache
- app recovery
- restarting pc
- just waiting until the next day
Those didn't help.
I went to uninstall the EA app for a fresh install, but noticed my PC's uninstaller AND 3rd party uninstallers were saying that the games were still installed. I mean the entirety of Sims 3 and 4 (gigabytes upon gigabytes), not just the aforementioned games/dlc. They were all saying the games were installed in my designated install location. They were not. Not even a hidden folder or anything, but still taking up disk space. My entire library folder was GONE. Not in the recycle bin, just gone. Not even accidentally dragged into another folder... Even the app settings said the install location for games was in my now deleted folder.
So the only way to get rid of these supposedly non-existent files from taking up gigabytes of space was to use a 3rd party uninstaller programme.
Then I did the fresh install of the EA app anyway and literally nothing changed.
I also tried looking for help on the EA Player Help Services, but it was sending me in an unhelpful never-ending loop.
It seems to happen after updating the app, uninstalling a game, or just randomly. And it only seemed to remove games/dlc that I already had installed. And in case it matters, I have my EA library set up on a separate drive instead of the default C:drive. It's not a drive issue either since all my other game libraries are there with no issues.
Related folders in Documents seem untouched. So at least it didn't delete my sims 4 mod folder....
Good points and info you bring up. There's a lot of uncertianty it seems some of us (me included) are having in trying to find the common factor leading to further info or a policy reason that's been enacted I have no idea about.
In my case I have no EA/Origin games currently installed or even as phantom entries in win settings/programs and features or even leftover folders. Just missing games in my library outright currently. I did have two games removed from my account. But those two were entries from when I had a EA Play trial or a occasional month sub being removed. So those ghost entries within Origin/EA App are gone finally. Paid and Gifted/Granted content is still missing still.

I'm missing all my Mass Effect games and all of the Dragon Age games with the exception of DA2 from my library as well, seriously annoyed with this situation tbh.

Yay
Didn't get around to clearing the cache yet but all's back where it should be now so problem solved. 🙂
