App not starting

The EA app wont start at all, before the app started but the sims didnt. But noe neither works.

  • Hi, thanks for the update. Sorry to hear that you've already tried the suggested troubleshooting steps without seeing any improvement. I understand you're experiencing Error Code: EC:10005 in the EA app. Please take a look at the pinned reply in this thread.

In the meantime, one Sims player shared that the following workaround helped them:

I essentially had to uninstall and reinstall the launcher. The EA App now recognizes the game as one I own and has it in my library. Before, my only library options with the game were "Manage Add-Ons" and "Install", but now I have the option to repair, uninstall, update, etc. I'm updating the game now, and it seems to be working

This error may also be related to connectivity. You could also try:

    • Using a wired connection.
    • Restarting your modem/router.
    • Testing with a different network or a mobile hotspot.
    • Running EALauncher.exe or EADesktop.exe as an administrator (located in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop).

Let me know if any of these steps make a difference. Thank you for your patience.

As I haven’t heard back from you in some time, I’m hoping that means this issue is no longer troubling you. If you have any other questions or would like to share anything, I’d be glad to see you around again.
