can't download the sims 4, stuck on "preparing".

I havent played sims 4 for about a year. I re-dowloaded it the other day. its still loading. it wont download. Its been two days since i started it. someone turned my laptop off to be rude and it stopped my download. even to cancel it is taking an hour.
