Can't install EA Desktop APP
Hi, Recently I downloaded Sims 4 on steam and it required me to update the old Origin client to the "new EA Desktop app" to play it, but it simply fails to install, citing errorcode "INST-14-1603"...

The post you linked mentioned downloading the installer from a different browser as a fix.
Originally, I downloaded it from firefox. Following the post you quoted I have tried downloading it with:
-Chrome
-Brave
-Vivaldi
and it still doesn't work. The whole thing does not make sense in the first place as the thing being downloaded is not even the installer, but rather an app that downloads a the silent installer for the app in the background on it's own, which shoud not be effected by a user's browser.
Furthermore, I taken the liberity to follow post #3 at https://answers.ea.com/t5/Information-Guides-and/INFO-EA-app-What-does-this-INST-Error-Code-mean/m-p/12420205#INST-14-1603 as it was also in the comment sections of the post you linked. I have reinstalled all VC Redist (paying attention to x86/x64 versions where applicable) and followed it up with a reboot.
The app still won't install.

After being ignored for 3 week+ with no follow up steps to troubleshoot my issue I was forced to go with the only option I have left and do a clean reinstall of windows on my system, resulting in partial dataloss.
I'm deeply disappointed in EA's incompetence in this matter as I was ready to try things/provide logs etc... would I have had anyone to actively work with....
