Hello @SimonVetterli,
could you please look for updates for the EA app and update it, if there are any available?
If you're playing Battlefield 3 via the EA app and you're running into the License Key Error, please follow these steps:
- Open Windows File Explorer and copy/paste this 'url' into the address bar: C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License.
- If you can't copy/paste this 'url', you can enable the "View hidden files and folders in Windows" option via these steps and navigate to the folder manually.
- In the "License" folder, where you should be if you've followed the above-shared steps, check if you can see a file called "71067.dlf"*.
- *Please note: the file can have a different number!
- If it's there, delete this file and launch the game again. The game should now work.
If the problem persists, please report back to us in this thread.
For those wondering if this thread is dead or false.. let me confirm to you, that this does resolve my issue. However, every file that ended with .DLF I removed. I believe the issue was when you update the client, after not playing that title for awhile, it fails up open/update the current DLF for that game.
I can't confirm this will work for everyone.... sadly I wish I knew about this many years back when my CnC collection was having a similar issue..
good luck guys! Let's try not to keep making dead threads
