Your issue is that you are seeing an issue when using a third-party piece of hardware that was discontinued a number of years ago. We cannot assist with such hardware as it is not EA hardware.

I suffer the same problem. As every other non-Steam launcher / platform / game works it apparently is the EA App not being properly configured to receiving controller data from Steam Link interface. I'm linking from my Chromecast+Google TV with Xbox One Controller, which works like a charm with everything else, like Epic for example.
It does relay some data as it sees the controller as a keyboard and you can navigate the menu's but can't switch to controller in the settings.
