Okay I think mine is fixed now. Here is what I did:
* Uninstall the EA app.
* Go here and download the VC++ dists (2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022) for both X86 and X64:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170#visual-studio-2015-2017-2019-and-2022
* Install those packages.
* Reboot
* Re-download EA app and install it.
And now it's working for me.
FWIW, the VC++ packages I had installed were 14.34.xxxxx where as the latest downloads are 14.36.xxxxx. I don't seem to see them as updates available in Windows Update, which is where they usually get updated I think.
Also, I first tried to install these newer VC++ packages without uninstalling the EA app but it didn't help. It wasn't until I reinstall it that it seemed to help.

Hey everyone,
We did some merging and wanted to follow up and see if these helped. Below is a larger list of steps we recommend performing as well. This way you have as many resources as you can.
PC Steps
- Check for Windows and GPU updates
- Guide for Troubleshooting Graphics issues
- Install/Repair your VC++ files for the game (Microsoft VC++ Link)
- Put your device in a Clean Boot then launch the game
- Try Safe Mode with Networking Runa the EA App recovery
Try a new Windows Account and log in and update the client with the recovery
Windows Clean-up (optional)
Delete Windows Temp Files
- First, make sure you close as many programs as you can
- Press the Windows key + R, go into the file explorer
- Type in %temp%, and hit Enter
- Delete everything it allows you to delete
- Reboot the PC
Optional Registry clean-up
- install CCleaner (it's free) from here
- Run Registry cleaner
- Click review selected issues
- Do you want to back up? No
- Click Fix all selected issues
Optional DNS Flush
- Click the Start button. It’s the Windows logo in the bottom left corner.
- Select Command Prompt.
- To open the command prompt console, you could also simply press the Windows and R keys at the same time and enter cmd.
- You may see a popup asking if you want to allow Command Prompt to make changes to your computer. If you do, select Yes.
- If you are asked for an administrative login at this point, then you’ll need to contact your system administrator to proceed.
- In the command prompt window, type ipconfig /flushdns.
- Press Enter.
- You should see a message confirming that the DNS Resolver Cache was successfully flushed.
