DisplayName Missing from Registry Error
I’m having trouble activating Titanfall 2 on the EA app after purchasing it through Steam. Whenever I try to launch the game, I receive the error message:
"We could not activate Titanfall 2. DisplayName missing from registry on this computer using the EA account you provided. Please locate your product key to activate the game using your EA account."
Steps I’ve Already Taken:
- Cleared EA App Cache: Followed the instructions for clearing the EA app’s cache (App Recovery).
- Checked License Folder: I navigated to C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License and C:\Users<Username>\AppData\Local\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License but found these folders to be empty (even with hidden files visible).
- Reinstalled EA App: I uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app, then logged in again, but the issue persists.
- Reinstalled Titanfall 2: I uninstalled and reinstalled Titanfall 2 from Steam, but still, the game will not launch.
- Checked for Antivirus/Firewall Issues: I made sure that neither my antivirus (McAfee) nor firewall was blocking the EA app or the game.
Additional Info:
- I’ve also checked my EA account, and everything seems to be in order.
- The issue might be related to a previous email address that I used for my EA account, as I recently changed it. It seems that my old email is still associated with my account, even though it is no longer active.
Could anyone help me figure out what might be causing this problem? Is there any additional troubleshooting I can try, or is this likely a server-side issue? I’m really eager to get Titanfall 2 working again and would appreciate any advice or solutions.
Thank you!
