I'm not sure how long this bug might have been present with the EA App, maybe it's always been there and has never been fixed but there is a problem with how it's installing Dragon Age: Inquisition GOTY Edition. Although the app downloads the files and I can play it, the problem is that if I want to remove it, it will not uninstall the game at all. The only way for me to completely remove it is by force deleting the game's folder through the command prompt or using a third-party app to force remove it because if I try to delete it from the File Explorer, it won't allow me because I need Admin permissions (even though I am the admin of my own computer). I think the problem is that the EA App is not properly registering the game with the Windows registry, nor is it creating any sort of uninstall entry from the Windows Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel (it's also not found when looking for it in Windows 11's Apps). Repairing the game doesn't fix the problem, nor does reinstalling the EA App. I'd try testing it with Origin, if EA hadn't made it impossible to use it because of the switch to the EA App to figure out more about what precisely is happening but for any other game downloaded & installed through the EA App, I don't have any issues. So far, it only appears to be a problem specifically with Dragon Age Inquisition.

It could be something totally unexpected causing similar issues. Make also sure to add the game and the EA app to the exclusions list in your Antivirus software, as it could block some files. Alternatively, you can create a new Windows admin profile and try to complete the process on that new account.

It's not my antivirus causing it, because it still happens even if I do add the app & game to my exclusions list. When I do try to uninstall the game, the only thing that happens is that the "Play" icon disappears momentarily and reappears and nothing happens. For anything else, it comes up with a confirmation box asking me if I'm sure I want to uninstall the game.

Hey @TurianRenegade Sometimes, the uninstall options may not work if there are any related application processes running in the background. Make sure to close any background applications before running the EA app, then check again. You can also try running the clean boot mode to test it.

Have you used a default installation folder for your games, or do you have a different drive where you keep them installed? If you use another drive, this could explain why it is missing from the system registry.

I've tried installing it to different locations, including the default location, and it doesn't fix it.

Under normal circumstances EA app installs the game just fine and all necessary entries for Windows to recognize the game are made.
(Steam is not doing this for all games btw, as you can see, Veilguard installed over Steam, is not found. 😉 )

Did you tried to remove the game from the File explorer first?
(Btw, since Windows Vista the user Admin account is no longer equipped with full admin rights, applications run with standard user permissions. If Admin permissions are required the OS is promoting you to authorize these.)

The only right way to remove a games (or any Application for that matter.) is over Settings > Apps > Installed apps or in the EA app library > Dot menu of the game > Uninstall.
If you tried to remove the game over the file explorer first it might be the cause of this problem.

No, I tried removing it from the EA app first as I do for everything else. When that failed, only then did I force delete it using the command prompt (File Explorer won't let me delete it because of a permissions problem that I can't seem to fix either).
