EA App cannot open and the recovery option does not work

Hello everyone,

I have a computer with Windows 11 in Polish language and I am writing my own translation into English of what happened in my hope that I will be understood better than the message translated by artificial intelligence or I will get an answer faster or more of them.

For several weeks I have a problem with losing access to the EA App. For many months, when I shut down my Windows 11 computer, I received a message that the unnamed application was still active and was blocking the computer from shutting down. The question was regulary showing on: "Do you still want to turn off your computer despite of this?"

I always closed the computer despite this message and everything worked fine the next time I turned the computer on. However, a few weeks ago I wondered "what is this no-name application running on my system and often blocking my computer from turning off..?"

When finally I didn't press the "turn off anyway" option on the screen, but something like "keep going" or "stay despite" or something similar, the screen went black for a long time and nothing else visibly happened. I really wanted to give the computer a chance to deal with what it was doing, but nothing happened for a long time, so I turned off the computer's power button. Just the next time I turned on my computer, my EA App stopped opening. Everything else on my computer continues to work great and smoothly.

EA tech support reccomended me to follow this procedure: https://help.ea.com/in/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/#ea-app
but it doesn't work.

I can't open EA App because I have notification which I can translate from my native language <an object "EALauncher.exe" to which this shortcut is associated has been changed or transferred to a different location, so this shortcut will not work properly. Do you want to delete this shortcut?> When I open Start Menu and I find EA App Recovery, I have instantly the same notification as mentioned earlier in this message: <an object "EALauncher.exe" to which this shortcut is associated has been changed or transferred to a different location, so this shortcut will not work properly. Do you want to delete this shortcut?>

I also have the same problem with EA Error Reporter. I have a notification:

<an object "ErrorReporter.exe" to which this shortcut is associated has been changed or transferred to a different location, so this shortcut will not work properly. Do you want to delete this shortcut?>

I didn't do anything with the EA files or the EA App, everything changed after I didn't want to turn off the app without the name when I turned off the computer, but stayed further away and then the screen went black for a long time.

Nothing asks me about anything else nor asks me about anything related to clearing cache files like in recommended by EA's tech support article.

By shortcut I mean a file which leads to the original file but shortcut can be in any location like for example Desktop or any personal folder created by a user while the original application or program needs to be in the exact location or folder to work properly.

I believe cache files store temporary memory data related to a program or application. I have no notifications nor questions related to cache or temporary memory files when I follow related to EA App procedures described on the website mentioned by EA's tech support.

And this is why I am openning now this new topic.

Do you have any knowledge or experience with similar issue like described by me here?

best wishes,
Dominika
