Hey therealaariz ,
Thank you for reaching out and for providing such a detailed description of the issue and the steps you've already taken. I'm sorry to hear you're running into this. It's definitely a strange one, but let's see if we can get to the bottom of it.
You've done a great job troubleshooting so far. Since the basics haven't worked, let's try a few more advanced steps. Please try these in order and see if any of them resolve the issue.
- Adjust Power Management for your Wi-Fi Adapter
Sometimes Windows tries to save power by turning off the Wi-Fi adapter, and games can sometimes trigger this incorrectly.
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Network adapters section.
- Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter and select Properties.
- Go to the Power Management tab.
- Uncheck the box that says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and click OK.
- Restart your computer and try launching a game.
- Perform a Clean Boot
This will help us determine if another program is interfering with the EA app or your games. A clean boot starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs.
- You can find the official Microsoft instructions on how to perform a clean boot here: How to perform a clean boot in Windows
- Once in a clean boot environment, try running the EA app and a game to see if the issue still occurs.
- Change your DNS Settings
This can sometimes help with issues related to connecting to game servers.
- Search for "View Network Connections" in the Start Menu and open it.
- Right-click on your Wi-Fi connection and select Properties.
- Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
- Select "Use the following DNS server addresses:" and enter the following:
- Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8
- Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4
- Click OK, restart your computer, and test again.
If the issue continues...
This could be a deeper issue, and we'll need to look at your system and app logs. Please follow the steps below to gather some files and attach them to your post.
- EA app Error Reporter: In the EA app, click the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner, go to Help, and then EA Error Reporter. Run the tool and share the Report ID it gives you.
- DxDiag Report:
- Press the Windows Key + R.
- Type DxDiag and press Enter.
- Wait for the green bar to finish loading, then click Save All Information. Save the file to your desktop.
- MSInfo Report:
- Press the Windows Key + R.
- Type msinfo32 and press Enter.
- In the new window, click File > Save. Save the file to your desktop.
Please attach the DxDiag.txt and MSInfo.nfo files to your next reply, along with the EA Error Reporter ID. This will give us the detailed information we need to investigate further.
We'll do our best to help you get this sorted out so you can get back to gaming.
