EA App is still not working...
In fact, it's now worse, since it won't open at all.
I'm on Mac, and the EA app is giving me 'EC10005' (cannot connect to the server). Before today, the app was opening, but when I went to download the Sims 4, it was getting to 2% each time and then saying it wasn't connected to the internet.
What I've tried so far:
- Uninstalling/reinstalling the EA app.
- Restarting my Macbook.
- Making sure my macOS is up-to-date.
- Clearing the EA app cache.
- 4 different wifi networks/hotspots.
- Making sure the EA app has 'full disk access'.
- Turning off my firewall to see if it made any difference.
- Downloading just the base game, to see if it would handle it if I was trying to install less.
- Changing the location I was downloading my game to (internal hard-drive vs external).
I have had the Sims 4/packs installed on this Macbook before, so I know it is also not the issue of my computer not being able to handle it. Foolishly, I uninstalled it some time ago, but I'd really like to once more play the games I own. This issue has been happening for quite some time now, so it's clearly not a temporary server issue. My computer has internet access - I've been playing other games that require a strong internet connection.
Does anyone have any thoughts? I'm not sure what else I can do to resolve this issue.
