Which client functionality are you experiencing this bug with? Game Hub
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 28.08.23
Summarize your bug Time played is incorrect; hours randomly reduced
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Unknown, happened randomly
What happens when the bug occurs? Time played is displayed as an incorrect number on certain titles where there used to be more hours
What do you expect to see? An accurate time played counter
Randomly when I opened the app today two of my games had drastically reduced hours. The 600 and 500 (give or take) hours I invested into Dragon Age 2 and Dragon Age: Origins are currently being displayed as 129 and 185 hours. For some reason, Sims 4 is still displaying the correct number of hours played. I already tried resetting the app, app recovery, clearing the cache, repairing each title, etc. Not preventing me from playing anything obviously but when you invest so much time into a game and enjoy time played as a feature its a bit disappointing.
For the record, in the past day I've tried the following already, but none of these have helped:
- Clearing the cache
- Resetting the app
- App recovery
- Repairing games
- Uninstalling and reinstalling games
- Logging out of the app and logging back in
- Restarting computer
- Enabling and disabling weekly playtime tracking
- Launching games (does actually log hours, but doesn't restore the previous hours reduced)
I have noticed that the EA app exits out whenever I launch a game now and refuses to load when I try to bring it up while playing something. Could be another separate issue, could be related.
