Same here.
I want to download the BF 2042 update.
Nearly 50 GB free storage. As soon as I have update the SSD says that there's no free storage left and the update won't start.
I had the same problem during the last update. What "solved" it was to free up as much storage space as BF 2042 takes,
just to install a 2 GB update. * EA app just doesn't work...
If you google this exact problem you can find the same * happening years ago and somehow they still haven't fixed it.
So theres no Solution? Im in a whole different thread seeking help for this same problem.. BF 2042 came out with an updater a few days ago.. and I havent been able to download the update so I took the L to reinstall and now I cant download any game :D

You just need a ton of free space on your disc.
I was able to install the update - now I'm sitting here with 157 GB free storage, but at least the update is done :D
I needed around 75 GB to install the update, most of it was free again as soon as the update was finished.- 3 years ago

Try clearing the cache in the Origin/EA app.
In the EA app in the top left corner there's a burger menu.
Select the last option in the "help" menu.
If that doesn't do the trick try reinstalling the EA app.

How did you get all of that space? Is there a certain app you use or preferred software? I want free storage space lol
