EA App won't install

Hello,  I'm trying to play The Sims 3 but EA wants to install the new EA App. But the installer keeps encountering an error and the App won't finish installing. Every time I try to play the game it s...

@spankenstein89  I'm guessing this error refers to the 2015 and newer VC++ runtimes, which the EA App uses.  So please uninstall your current versions, if you have them, and install fresh copies.  Hit Windows key-i, select Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, click on any version from 2015 or later, and select Uninstall.  Don't touch the older versions.  You can download the newest runtimes directly from Microsoft:

You'll need both the x86 and x64 versions of the 2015-2022 runtimes, but you can skip the ARM version, which is for a different class of device.  Restart your computer after installing and before trying to install the App.

    Hi Puzzlezaddict, The x64 version installed fine, but I ran into a problem when I tried to install the x86 version. I got the same error message that I got when I try to install the EA App. 

    I took a clip of it if that helps. I tried clicking OK a couple of times, but that caused the error message to come back. So when I clicked cancel, the installer aborts the App installation.

    I appreciate any other suggestions you can give me.
