EA app won't launch

I'm on mac. I can see app in Finder and Launchpad and i'm able to press it to open and the icon bounces a couple times and it shows up in the toolbar but NEVER actually opens. (not a black screen, it just never opens)

  • uninstalled and reinstalled like 50 times
  • checked my connection
  • made sure my mac is up to date to be compatible with EA app
  • restarted and relaunched app
  • cleared cache
  • tried opening through LaunchHelper
  • submitted multiple error reports

This has been happening for the past 3 weeks and i've gotten no help from EA support whatsoever. Read so many forums from people with the same issues as me and it seems they also got no help. I need answers. This is incredibly frustrating because nothing has changed on my part so there should be no reason for the app to not work. 

  • Oh dang, the app should work fine for you since you have a newer version than Catalina! But anyways I just spend about 2 hours on chat support and I believe I found the solution.     This FINALLY got the EA app to open!!!!!! I had to re-sign back in to my EA account and now I'm redownloading Sims 4 (the only game I have this app for lol) waiting for it to finish downloading. I really hope the link helps you!!!

    Unfortunately I went down that road and it didn’t work for me :( but I’m so glad it worked for you!! Think of me while you’re playing so I can play vicariously through you lol!!! If it was able to fix for you, I’m hopeful it will for me soon.

    I have a 2015 on Monterey 12.7.6 so this confirms that the issue is across models and softwares. SO frustrating. This definitely happened after the update on 2/3. At this point I've given up trying and just download the app every couple of days to see if there's a new version. Keep me posted, too! I'll probably try another EA support chat again in a couple of days to see if they've learned anything new. They certainly didn't give it much of an effort to try and just told me that the "issue was with my mac". I know it's old, but it's still kicking and has no other issues lol

    I have Macbook Air year 2020, macOS Sequoia 15.3. I think the EA App required some kind of update recently and that’s when this whole fiasco started. I have no idea what’s the issue and it’s so frustrating!!! Lmk if you figure anything out. Really wish EA support can figure their crap out.

    I have been having the exact same issue. What year Mac do you have and what OS software? EA support was so unhelpful.
