EA Desktop app crashes upon installation

Summarize your bug Im running windows 10 on pc. I've downloaded the EADesktopInstaller.exe from your email. I open the exe, the screen searching for new updates comes up soon after the screen: "Your games. Your friends. Your heroes". If i click "Let's Go" the app crashes (feels more like minimizing) but no error och log. If I choose "View install options" and choos location: same thing happends. I've launched the app in compatibility mode with both win 8 and win 7 + run as an admin but nothing works. No installation folder is to be found.. Can't find any background processes or services assosiated with EA desktop if the program had "frozen" or "run in the background".
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Dont know, I could maybe record the screen?
What happens when the bug occurs? Nothing
What do you expect to see? Installation beeing made

    Hi Holger i already tried this methods before.

    There are people who have the same problem as me in other forums, they tried everything but they can't solve this problem.

    The only solution we could find was formatting the computer.

    Formatting solve our problem.

    Thanks it solved the problem for me too. Just moved the installer to the same directory as the installation folder. Thanks for the help 🙂

    I was getting this same crash upon installation, but for a different reason.

    I set my desktop to read-only because I REALLY hate when apps put their icons on my desktop, cluttering it up. It crashed because it couldn't save the icon to the desktop. I had to disable that option under "customize setup."

    Maybe the installer devs shouldn't just assume file creation succeeds. And maybe apps developers should also stop assuming users want their icons on their desktops.
