I tried using that link and removed all non-windows services (except EA Background Services, as that stops it running completely without it), and also removed all startup tasks.
I'm still getting the same EA Desktop crash. Launches, shows the main screen and then immediately crashes - showing the "Oops" screen twice.
I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling EA Desktop and it is still crashing in the same way.
The annoying thing is that a bit over a month ago it was all working fine - I could install games and play them. And then it suddenly started doing this crash every day (I assume this was after an update of the app). Is there any way of installing an earlier version of the app?
Note: when I say it was all working fine, that's not completely true.. I did have the issues that was mentioned by Koroxis in this thread about downloaded games not showing as downloaded (but would after I did an App Recovery, but then the next day would show the same problem).
I'm having this issue too, but only with an account that is linked to Xbox Gamepass for EA Play. Was working about a month ago but haven't been able to get the app to open without popping up a couple of 'Oof, something exploded' messages.

Now that's interesting, I just tried that myself.
When I first tried EA Desktop, it created an account the same as my xbox account (a hotmail address), but I already had an EA account so I unlinked the new one and linked my Xbox account to the old EA account with a different email address.
I think that's part of the problem.. it probably would have worked better when the EA account has the same email address as the Xbox account.
So I now have 2 accounts.
I just tried starting up EA Desktop with the new EA account (which I don't use) and no crash!
But when I start up EA Desktop with the old EA account that is linked to my XBox account and has EA Play activated, it crashes.

In that case, could you try to uninstall EA Desktop and then open the Xbox App, click on an EA game and EA Desktop should install again.
Could you give it a go and let me know if it works @SteelPanther9?

I just tried that, uninstalled EA Desktop, then clicked on an EA game in the Xbox app. Installed the EA Desktop but still getting the same crash and 2 "Oops" windows appearing.
