    I found it. its connected to a windows service:

    Windows key --> type in services --> click on the services app new windows opens --> click in it --> type "e" to navigate to the "EABackgroundService" --> right click --> properties --> change start type to "manually"

Same here... Background service is disabled in the settings but launches every time I open the EA app. When I close the EA app the background service continues running. I have to manually stop the service every time I close the app.

Please fix, sooner rather than later...
