I solved the issue! If you're having the same issue just go to the top left click the three lines at the top. When you do that, click help then app recovery.
I'm just having a terrible time here. EA App is horrible. It's nothing like Origin. My autistic son has a new HP Envy. Not the best gaming PC but other HP Envy laptops have run Sims 4 and Sims 3 just fine. When downloading Sims 4 this time Journey to Batuu stalled out. I stopped the download but then none of the other game or expansion packs started to download thereafter. It just acted like all dowoads were completed. EA App doesn't even give me a list of what remains to be installed like Origin did. So then I tried to run the only two Sims 3 packs EA App would install and Windows says I'm missing a file to run it. I have never had such trouble installing these games. So irritated!

Hello, Thank you so much for your help. I am replying under a different account name because the EA account that was having the difficulty, Oliver_Hillary, and the laptop in question belongs to my adult son. He has autism and insists on being signed into his EA App all of the time, just as he insisted on staying signed into Origin. He doesn't live with me so the only time I can work on his laptop(s) is when he is visiting overnight and even then I can only try to solve issues regarding his EA account or his laptop(s) when he is sleeping because he doesn't like anyone else touching his computer(s). He doesn't, however, have the cognitive ability to sign himself back into EA App were I to sign him out in order to attempt to solve issues related to his EA account or his laptop(s) so I am unable to work on this matter further until he returns for another visit in two weeks. That was a long explanation, I'm sorry about that. In any case, thank you for your guidance and I will let you know what happens when I am able to attempt again to solve these issues in two weeks. I just have one question at this point -- the laptop I was working on is a brand new one that I was trying to set up for my son as a backup in case anything happens to his current laptop (he has a tendency to damage his computers from time to time). So would I still need to clear the cache on a brand new laptop that had only had a few programs installed on it like Facebook Messenger and Skype prior to me attempting to install the Sims games? Even if the laptop is fairly new, I'd still recommend clearing the cache for the EA App as that step can help clear any corrupted or glitched data that may be preventing your download.
Hello, This is Oliver_Hillary. I wanted to thank you for your help in trying to solve my difficulties with EA App related to the downloading of Sims 4. I ended up trying something different though. But I am planning to purchase one or two of the new Sims 4 kit packs for both my own EA account and for my son's EA account. When I purchase those I will install them solely using EA App and then I will find out if I experience any difficulty installing them through EA App. If I do experience difficulty with either my own laptop and my own EA account, or with my son's laptop and his EA account, then I will follow your instructions regarding how to solve the issue. I can't access my son's EA account or his laptop until he visits in another two weeks but I expect I'll be purchasing a Sims 4 kit or two within the next couple of days for my own EA account on my own laptop. At that time I'll let you know how EA App works for me. I'm sorry again for the length of my post. I truly appreciate your help. Thanks, Hillary
I've tried this method twice now and it still doesn't work. Also, no app should ever need this much configuration considering I've spent money on these games and can no longer access them...this new EA app is horrible
