ea desktop just uninstalled origin without giving me any say

this behaviour is always going to be unacceptable, though i havent needed to repair the beta app yet so it hasnt yet had a chance to recur. i own star wars fallen order on steam (i bought it there so i could review it if i wanted and becos steam has lot of discussion areas easier to use than the separate ones here not being on ea app or origin).

that game doesnt appear at all on ea app. the sticky gives the impression you are going to switch to the ea app exclusively before you ensured it can show and allow ppl to play steam games which require origin.

so i now have additional requirements - EITHER you prioritise adding games owned on other platforms to EA app, and organise a huge effort to push out a patch to all those games you sold on steam to use ea app instead of origin. this is the most elegant but costliest solution

OR you keep origin for steam/epic etc versions of games, which means ongoing security patches for origin indefinitely. this is the cost no issue solution, and kind of obviates the premise behind EA Desktop being created at all.

OR you remove the requirement for steam versions to need any other 'app' but steam itself. steam does a good job of being DRM. having to use two different apps where one is clearly just wasting system resources better used on the game you want to plays. this is the cheap way to do it.

OR you give free of charge an EA desktop app copy of those games that doesnt require steam to run, which is not optimal. this will mean the steam version being unplayable because origin is withdrawn but we get the recompense of not having to buy it again on EA Desktop when we already own it, just download the EA desktop version and uninstall the steam one. this is the 'good customer care' option.
