EA Desktop Won't Download since new ssd put in.

Hi everyone, My hard drive died and I had to put in a new SSD.

I didn't get to uninstall the EA app  before it died as it just died so now I just switched the new drive and that drive had my XBOX app and EA app on it.

The XBOX app is working fine but the EA app will not let me re in stall it now no matter what I do.

It keeps coming up with an error saying, it is already installed on there on D drive which it is not as that D drive is the drive that died and I took out.

I have searched everywhere to make sure no other files are left behind and i can't find any.

the other error i get is

eaconnect.microsoft.//launch?version=1.0&port=4700 Application not found.

this is driving me insane.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling xbox app as well but that doesn't help either.

    Hi @Buzz6996940843,

Thank you for the great description!

When you removed all the games for your former hard drive, did you uninstall the games or just remove the files?

If you just uninstalled the games, then please try to clear the cache via the App Recovery program for EA Desktop that you can find in your Start menu.

  • I didn't get to uninstall as the hard drive just died.

I tried resetting the pc that didnt work either.

I literally had to put a fresh windows install onto my PC.

I will not be downloading EA ever again as i will not be having to re download all my games again because of this crappy App!

  • I tried this, I build pc's on the side have done so for many years and have a so I  know alot about them.

    I literally tried everything.

As i said even resetting it and wipeing all files from the remaing c drive didn't help.

Reinstalling windows was the only option I had left.

I just won't be Re installing Anymore EA app's in the future.

  • @MADrag0nDon't need to plus if u read my posts my drive died so I couldn't uninstall it as I took the drive out as it was useless.  Plus I had already ran the Ms tool before and it did not work, as I stated I had to do a clean install of windows and after all this and losing everything on my pc I will no longer be reinstalling EA on my PC again, it is not worth it.

If you cannot uninstall / install something, then you can use that MS Tool, regardless of the connected / disconnected SSD / HDD.

You are free to use or not use any software ...

    Good luck.
