EA Games Bought Through Steam Won't Launch With New EA App

I recently purchased Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on Steam.  After downloading and installing the game through Steam, I went to launch the game and it asked me to download the new EA App (the replacement for Origin), so I uninstalled Origin and downloaded and installed the new EA App.  I then tried to launch Jedi: Survivor, and Steam shows the game is running for about 30 seconds (the green "play" button turns to blue and says "X Stop") and then reverts as if the game has closed.  I open Windows Task Manager and tried to launch the game from Steam again and I noticed that Jedi: Survivor never appears in Processes. 

I then tried to launch Jedi: Fallen Order, which I previously purchased through Steam and never had any problems launching the game through Origin.  I get the same result now as Jedi: Survivor.  Trying to launch JedI: Fallen Order from Steam with the new EA App installed results in Steam listing the game is running for about 30 seconds and then it reverts as if the game has closed.  Jedi: Fallen Order is never visible in Processes within Task Manager.

I've also tried launching both games from within the new EA App.  The EA App presents a pop up stating "Launching game...", but the pop up disappears after about 10 seconds.  No process is ever visible within Task Manager.

So, having downloaded and installed the new EA App and uninstalled Origin, I can no longer play any EA game purchased through Steam.  I have tried contacting EA Help, but the responses I get are completely irrelevant, addressing issues related to my graphics settings and hardware setup.  Those issues clearly aren't the problem as I previously ran these games on my rig with no issues when Origin was installed.

I've spent hours combing through these forums and watching YouTube videos, but none of them have solved this.
