EA Play and Discord Overlay crashing BF4

I used to use Discord Overlay with BF4 all the time and it was fine, but Origin forced me to update to EA Play and now BF4 will not run unless I turn off Discord overlay. Why? It was fine before, it literally worked yesterday before I was forced to update to EA Play. I reinstalled the game, and EA Play and determined it worked fine until I re-enabled Discord Overlay.
