EA refuses to open games [Minimum Requirements for playing this game]

Hi!

I have a relatively old computer with an integrated NVIDIA Geforce 920MX card. I've had it for the past six years. I've been playing my EA games without any issue (Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age II, Dragon Age Inquisition, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition and The Sims 4). I can't play them on super high resolution, but they've always run without problems.

Yesterday I formatted my computer and reinstalled everything. I've made sure that my graphic card drivers are up to date, and I checked whether I could play my games normally. That's when EA started to refuse opening any game I own. The message I get is different for each game -The Sims 4 doesn't even find any graphics card to begin with-, but it comes down to EA telling me:

"Your computer does not meet the minimum requirements for playing this game. NVIDIA Geforce 920MX GPU does not support DirectX 10.0 which is required."

I have DirectX 12. I also have the latest Geforce update, which is 555.99. This only happens with the games that need to launch through the EA App, as every other game I own works perfectly fine.

I've tried repairing the games but it keeps saying the same thing. I repaired the EA App and it did nothing, it still refuses to launch the games.

I'll attach the DxDiag in case it's necessary, but as it says, the video card is up to date, I have DirectX 12 and I've been playing these games for several years with this very same video card and no problem until now.

I'd appreciate any help on this matter.

    Hi there,

Thanks for providing all these details and also the DxDiag. As far as I can see your device meets the requirements to run the games you've mentioned. But I also noticed that you have integrated graphics in your CPU. Perhaps that system is trying to use that GPU and this might be causing the issue.

To fix this, I would suggest two steps to start with:

    1. Make sure your monitor is connected to the GPU slot and not directly to the motherboard. If the the monitor is connected to the motherboard it will try to use the integrated GPU by default
    2. Try setting up a Gaming profile for your GPU.

      • Make sure you've downloaded the latest drivers for your card and the NVIDIA Control Panel.
      • Right-click any free area of your desktop, and select NVIDIA Control Panel.
      • In the left column of the NVIDIA Control Panel, click on 3D Settings, then Manage 3D Settings.
      • Click the Program Settings tab, then the Add button.
      • Using Windows Explorer, browse to the program file (*.exe) of the game you want to make a profile for.
        • For example, to add a profile for The Sims 4, you'd find the folder for The Sims 4 on your computer, then select TS4.exe or TS4_x64.
      • Click Add Selected Program, then find Power management mode in the pull-down menu, and set it to Prefer maximum performance.

    I hope this helps!
