Error 500 in EA app when trying to play games.

Summarize your bug Whenever I launch the EA app, it gives me a yellow message that 'things are taking a little longer than usual to load up'. When I try to play a game, it gives me an error 500 message (The server encountered a mysterious error. try again in a little bit). I cannot play games now.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1. Launch the EA app 2. Click on a game in your library
What happens when the bug occurs? A yellow message shows up saying 'things are taking a little longer than usual to load up'. When trying to play a game, it gives error 500.
What do you expect to see? To be able to play games using the EA app.

I've ran the app as administrator but it didn't solve the problem. I have also tried to remove any mods I use in my game (The Sims 4) but that didn't work either. Would really appreciate some help so that I can play my games again!

    I terminated the EA app AND the EA background service via task manager and everything seems to work. I can launch games again and I don't see the error anymore!

    I couldn't play for about a month because the 500 error message kept coming up but when I cleared EA task manager it worked thanks a lot!!! And I was able to see all my games again thanks again ^^

    Hi! I literally ran into this issue for the first time today and did everything recommended but nothing worked. However, I deleted and removed anything to do with EA off my pc including the app and any EA folders in my c drive. I didn't touch the Electronic Arts folder at all though as I didnt want to mess with any of the games or the saves. I also uninstalled EA app completely and did a fresh reinstall as if I was getting it for the first time and it seems to be working again! Hopefully it stays working this time

    Hi,

    I'm having trouble downloading the new patch update for the Sims 4 for that came out today (2/27/2024). Every time I try to download the update, I get an Error 500 and an attached message that says "Something went wrong. The server encountered a mysterious error. Try again in a little bit." This is the first time I've even encountered a download error for a patch update.

    I've restarted and logged in/out of the app multiple times. Does anyone have any advice?

    Estou tendo o mesmo probelma e ninguém consegue resolver, agora nem repara o jogo eu consigo.

    @valk-valk-01 March 2024, was experiencing this issue, opened task manager and did end task on the EA Background, and reloaded and everything worked, so thank you ! 🙂

    Go into task manager and do End Task on the EA Background and thats what worked for me. Good Luck!
