Thanks for letting me know
Hi, since last week a had to activate the game once again. Every now and then I have to do that. I got an error that I couldn't logon.
I've contacted EA and they told me my EA account was deleted since it was inactive according to EA. I couldn't reactivate the account since the email address doesn't exist anymore and the internetprovider (zonnet) also doesn't exist anymore.
EA advised me to buy the game again. I found a used game and tried to activate it in my new EA account. But although I could link the serial code of my new game to my new EA account it doesn't work. EA asked me on which platform I played, the EA app or Origin. I simply started the game by clicking on the shortcut of the game on my desktop.
When I use the shortcut a pop up appears to activate the game by signing in on my Origin account. When I do so a message appears that it isn't possible to activate the game on my computer using the Origin account I'v provided. There is an option to enter the product key but when I trie this that a message appears that I'm not online. Which isn't true.
EA told me that they're going to investigate this, but when I read your problem here, Lawson 9876 I have very little confidence. Was your problem solved eventually?

Hi, not sure that really helps. But I had lengthy emails back and forth with very friendly EA support, regarding that message that I am not online. Eventually I was told that at least FIFA 12 is a so called sunset game with no more EA support. Guess thats it.
Kind regards from Germany! Gerd

I had the same issue and found a fix. I read on Reddit that deleting the license folder inside ProgramData can solve the problem, and after trying it myself, it worked.
To do this, you first need to make hidden files visible in Windows File Explorer, because the ProgramData folder is hidden by default. After turning on the option to show hidden items, go to this location: C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License.
In that folder you should see one or more files, such as 71067.dlf. Delete or move those files and the license problems with EA games should be resolved.
Hopefully this helps anyone else who is stuck with the same issue!
