Finding Steam friends using EA desktop

Hi,

I have linked my EA account with Steam and it is showing as linked on the EA website.

However, I was trying to import friends from Steam and it was asking me to connect the account again.

I have done so and logged into steam from EA desktop. Once it has logged in though, I see the following error from steam:

{"error":"external party error","error_description":"state is invalid","code":106123}

Has anyone come across this before? I'm not sure how to correct this one.

I have tried unlinking Steam from my EA account to no avail. I have reconnected them in the meantime as I do want them paired.

    Hey all, 

    If you use the Continue with Steam option when launching EA Desktop you should be able to import your friends as a workaround currently. 

    This issue is still under investigation and a more permanent fix will be implemented when available.

    @mrdrgrumpy Glad to hear and thanks for letting us know!

    I received an update saying that the problem with importing friends through Steam has been fixed!

    Should you read my message and think what I'm on about as you still can't import your friends through Steam, then please let me know.

    had the import issue today, can login through both methods (import steam friends and 'continue via steam') both won't bring across steam friends.

    > Tried logging out of both Steam and EA, didn't seem to resolve it.

    > 'repaired' the EA installation, no bueno.

    > Removed the app completely and logged in again, no good.

    > unlinked / relinked Steam > same issue

    The wording of the error in the pic attached seems to suggest both people have to link their Steam account with EA,

    is this true? kinda of annoying to have to hassle friends to get EA's app when they bought the game elsewhere.

    This issue isn't fixed. Why wasn't the kinks worked out when you changed from origin? Did you all not think about this? This is very frustrating and when we purchase games we as consumers should not have to face barricades such as this. This is unacceptable when I purchase a product via Highly decorated publisher's app I should run into no problems when trying to play. What gives? What does it take for people to do there job nowadays?

    I very much still cannot add/see my Steam friends in the EA app either through the workaround or linking accounts (which I have done successfully)

    Still not working okey :/ i´ve done eveything and still no Steam friends at EA app.
