[FIXED] EA Games via Steam/Epic-Failed to Start/Missing - Feb. 9, 2024


ISSUE RESOLVED

Hi everyone,

Please use this thread to report any problems you are experiencing in launching EA games purchased through Steam or Epic, which may result in the "You don't have access" error message appearing in the EA app or games not showing up.

**It's important to note that this is a temporary outage in the connection between the EA app and other launchers. Our teams are actively investigating the issue.**


If you are experiencing this issue, please ensure the following:

  • Verify that you are logging into the EA app with the correct EA account - the one that has your Steam/Epic account linked.

  • Do or did you have EA Play? - If you had EA Play and claimed games that are now missing or returning a "You don't have access" error, ensure that your EA Play subscription is active. Note that this error can also occur in the EA app if you are attempting to launch an EA game via Steam or Epic while logged into the EA app with the incorrect account (one not linked to your Steam or Epic persona).

If the problem persists, please reply to this thread with the following information:

  • Your EA ID/Username:
  • Did you buy the game via Steam or Epic:

  • The names of the games that give the error (please just name a handful):

  • The date when this issue first started:

  • Your EA app Error Reporter ID (provide it in this thread):

    We are pleased to inform you that the issues previously experienced with the EA app due to the temporary outages, which resulted in missing EA games/DLCs, have now been successfully resolved. This applies whether you made your purchases through us directly at the EA.com website/EA app/Origin, or via Steam/Epic.

    We recommend that you restart your device and the EA app, Steam or Epic, to ensure that everything is functioning correctly. After restarting, if you're still encountering any issues, we suggest performing some troubleshooting steps. You can clear the cache for the EA app, Steam, and Epic Games Launcher. Additionally, you may also perform a repair of the EA app.

    In case you continue to experience any issues post these steps, please report it on our Bug Reports & Technical Issues board.

    Please be aware that we are still investigating the issue of the EA app crashing, resulting in the "The app crashed unexpectedly" error. You can report this specific error in the designated thread here.

    • The date when this issue first started: 2/10/24

    • Your EA app Error Reporter ID (provide it in this thread): Purchased game through Steam. Click Play in steam. After clicking Play in Steam, we saw account login and created a new account. After completing account creation, clicked Play, then EA launcher was delayed then we received an error/crash report. Don't recall the details of error. Closed windows and re-attempted to click Play in Steam.  EA login/create account window came up and it successfully logged into EA. When we arrived at the home screen for EA and checked our Library, we had no games showing there.

    • Did you buy the game via Steam or Epic: Steam

    • The names of the games that give the error (please just name a handful): The Sims 4

    • The date when this issue first started: 02/10/2024

    Hello all,


    The EA app teams have informed us that the issues causing missing EA games/DLCs in the EA app, or when purchased via Steam/Epic, are now resolved. You should be able to locate your games/DLC again, whether bought through us at EA.com/EA app/Origin, or Steam/Epic.

    Please restart your device along with the EA app, Steam or Epic. After doing so, check if the issue persists and let us know in this thread. Alternatively, you may also clear the cache for the EA app, Steam, and Epic Games Launcher, or perform a repair of the EA app.


    However, the issue of the EA app crashing, resulting in the "The app crashed unexpectedly" error, is still under investigation. Please report this specific error in the designated thread here.

    Yep could download my purchases and make others and download again.

  • I bought FC24 from Epic Games 2 months ago, but the game does not load, when I click on the library, it is directed to the EA platform. I'm getting something went wrong error. Epic Games ea application is up to date and I completely deleted it and reinstalled it. All my files are up to date, Windows is up to date, there is no problem in that regard. And there are many people experiencing this error, it is said that there is a problem with the servers. But for most people, this problem went away after a few hours or a few days. Even though 2 months have passed, it still hasn't passed. When I go to ea.com and click on the links to my accounts section, there is no section called Epic Games. Normally it connects from here. Does this mean my Epic Games account has been paired with another EA account before? If you see it matches the account, I logged into the account with all emails but couldn't get through. Please help me, I can't contact the authorities. Some people even wrote to ea support like this and sent it back. If you cannot find a solution to the problem, refund my money. I've been suffering for months, please help! (Please specify the part you do not understand, I used translation)

  • I bought battlefield 5 on steam and it literally wont launch i feel like ive tried everything but it still wont work..

    it says that failed to launch game after it requests admin permissions, which ive already granted both the game and launcher admin perms in the properties. I already reinstalled twice, verified files millions of times.

    Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Whenever i run EA APP and go to my library all my games are shown except for DEADSPACE all my games were purchased on STEAM STORE too

    Hi,

    I bought a videogame (DEASPACE) on Steam platform, this game does not appear on my EA APP library as the other games i already bought.

    Then i bought DLC of DEADSPACE on EA STORE so as i mention before now i can not run the game and DLC neither.

    I submitted a lot of tickets asking for support but didnt geat any solution.
    I dont know if someone is taking care of my issue
    I dont know in which part of process my issue are
    I dont know what are the progress of my issue
    I dont know how to escalate this issue to someone who can give me a solution

    The only thing that i know is that i bought a game and DLC 2 months ago and i cant run it on EA APP

    5. I have reported it on EA app but it did not give me any error Reported ID.
    WTF is this *? Why I can't play * game that I just bought. EA FIX THIS *!

    Hey putting this out there for everyone on the thread...

    Had a word with EA support about the same.

    Errors Showing up:
    - App Unexpectedly Crashed
    - ActivationUI.exe Error (Error Code: 0xc000007b)

    Basically none of the EA apps are launching as the server is down and there has been an internal error... It's been 4 days since the problem and there hasn't been a fix out for it yet.

    Communication with the EA Support: 
    - EA Studio Team is working on a fix and trying to figure out the issue.
    - No estimated date for fix
    - Some PEOPLE have been impacted, while some have not.
    - Some GAMES have been impacted while some games have not.

    - Once the UPDATE for the "EA APP" is resolved and launched everything should be back to normal.

    Example: 

    I bought BF1 (Battlefield 1: Revolution) - Steam, and the game does not seem to run/launch

    I also bought NFS: HEAT (Need For Speed Heat) at the same time as BF1 and NFS is working perfectly fine.
