Hi players,

Our team has been working diligently to rectify this issue and we appreciate your patience during this time. However, if any of you continue to experience the same problem, please don't hesitate to report it again.
For those who are still encountering these issues, we kindly request you to share the earlier requested data such as mentioned here. This will help our team to diagnose the problem more accurately.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Just wanted to say a big thank you for keeping us updated on the issue.
Our teams are still hard at work investigating the issue, but in the meantime, they've released a new update for the EA app. Unfortunately, this new version of the EA app does not include any main fixes for the 'Failed to Launch the Game - "Double-check your connection" or "Failed to License Game"' issue, but it includes some changes to help the teams with their investigation.
We'd really appreciate it if you could check if your EA app is up to date (at the time of writing, the latest version is 13.37.0.5550) or try manually updating it using the steps provided here.
Once you have ensured that your EA app is completely up to date, please gather fresh logs for the EA app and Sims 4. Additionally, generate an EA app Error Reporter ID and provide it in this thread.
Summary of what we would like to receive from you:
An EA app Error Reporter ID (please share it here in the thread),
EA app logs (please see the steps below on how to gather/attach those to your thread),
The Sims 4 logs (please see the steps below on how to gather/attach those to your thread).
*If you cannot open the EA app, you can still generate an Error Report ID by following the steps mentioned underneath the section called "I can't open the EA app".

How to gather & share EA app logs (click on "Spoiler" to reveal the info)
Please share logs of The Sims 4, by creating a .rar file of them and adding them to your post,
The The Sims 4 logs can be found in C:\ProgramData\Origin\Logs, they should look something like EAapp_OnlineActivation_Log.html or TheSims4_OnlineActivation_Log.html.
I'm part of an educational institution. One of our teachers is wanting to use the game as part of their lessons. I have successfully created an account and have installed the game on our computers for the lesson, but when I try to run the game, it says "the game has failed to license". I have an internet connection, and there is no DLC installed. Is there a fix for this issue? I have no clue as to why this happens.
I am experiencing the same error! I checked my firewall, completely uninstalled and reinstalled both EA and the sims 4. What's really strange is that my other games through EA are loading just fine; it's just Sims 4. I changed the file location as well in an attempt to get it to load. It's not loading at all because it states the last time I played was in July. I just got a new setup and really want to enjoy my game ☹️
Same problem here, I use to be able to run it as administrator straight from the computer file with EA open in the background but since the Horse pack or around that time that stopped working. I haven't been able to play since then. I have tried everything I have found on the internet. Nothing has fixed it. I even took it to work with better internet and same issue.
@caloundracc@jeaniebobeanie99 and @samihunt55 Do you have access to another EA account you could borrow, or do you have a Steam account you'd be willing to link to your EA account? I'm curious whether this issue is specific to the EA accounts in question, and if it is, using a different one should work. Adding the game through Steam grants a different entitlement and might also sidestep the problem. I'd suggest uninstalling Sims 4 and the EA App before switching accounts, and you'll definitely need to uninstall the game if you're going to use Steam.
If this doesn't help, please let me know what country you're in and whether you're using a VPN.
I'm getting a new error where the app says it can't start because it 'failed to license' Sims 4 and advises to double-check check connection. Only affects Sims 4, other games launch without issue. Tried repairing the game, restarting the PC, and clearing the cache, but no dice.
