UPDATE
I have created a new account and the friends list works. I however want to use my main account because I purchased games
Hi @DanielGrec,
I want to double check what is causing this problem for you.
The first thing that we can try is to launch Origin, log in with your account and check if the friends list is appearing for you.
Give it a go and let me know the result.

Is there any update to this,
I have been having the same issue for over a week now,
Friends list wont load in the EA App. they do work in the origin app but I am forced to used the EA app for gamepass/Ea Play
I have tried the following:
- App recovery
- Disabling firewalls
- Trying to connect on a different network
- uninstalling reinstalling the application
so far I have had no luck and am completely unable to play any games via the EA app with Friends which is unacceptable when I'm paying for a service.

You can't do anything. It's a bug. i talked on Twitter and we got that nothing is possible. you should empty the friend list but you can't and they can't too. just create a new account for xbox games pass only.
- 3 years ago@EA_Jason Hasn't this been fixed yet?
When I log into Origin using my EA login I can see all my friends
When I log into EA App (Beta) with the same login it can't find my friends list
When I play a EA play game on Xbox SX (same account but linked to Xbox Live) like NFS Heat for example then I can't see my friends, except for one. But they can see me.
So it's impossible to play those EA play games together with friends. Will this ever be fixed?- 3 years ago
Same problem for me. I tried everything and the problem is still here..

EA Desktop left beta and is set to replace Origin in less than 3 months, but this is still happening.

Seems like many of us still have this issue. I logged this last year on ticket 94432574 and was not resolved.
Now you have retired Origin many of us are unable to connect with friends to play multiplayer games that we have licences for.
Personally, I have built a brand new machine with a fresh install of Windows 11 and the problem still occurs. It would seem hence to be an account problem and not a build issue. I will log a fresh ticket with help.ea.com but their lack of a fix last December/January does not inspire confidence.
- 3 years ago@Cloth_Ears What? That's a real shame. that means that we will lose all games too on our main accounts...

I only have this account and will not create a new account.
If EA create one for me and give me the licences that I own on it, that would be satisfactory, but I would lose connection with many acquaintances who I play with but don't know personally.
The EA support system is worse than ever. I could not find a way to log a new call related to the EA app. Eventually I got through to a chat window by clicking on Account/ Recovery and then /chat. That seems to be the only way of creating a ticket. They said they would log the bug with the EA App team and for me ' to keep an eye on twitter' or some such. Surely they should be taking care of the call that I logged?
Since I already did log this over a year ago, and they still have not fixed it I don't know if they ever will. So, we are unable to play games that we paid for. Is this permanent? If so, I will be collating this information and passing it on to reporters at well-known gaming publications.
I will give EA a week to do something about it.
