Friends list doesn't load in EA Desktop app, but works on Origin.

As the title says, EA Desktop does not load the friends list but displays a message that says "An error occurred and your friends list could not be located. Try again soon.". This has been happening for a long time and I have always used Origin for this reason. Now to use EA Play with Xbox Game Pass I’m forced to use EA Desktop but I can’t see nor add friends. Everything works perfectly on Origin but on Origin I can’t use EA Play. How do I make my friend list appear? I tried:
- Format
- Clean up the friends list completely
- Having my friends send me the friend request again. It works on Origin but nothing comes on EA Desktop.
