Games are always downloaded to Windows drive (C:) rather than selected location

I had the same problem, the issue seems to be some register key got stuck in the default save location. The solution I found is to change the installation location to a new place that you haven't use on ea app before, download the same game or a smaller one, cancel the installation right after it begins to download. After that you should able to install it in your original custom location like it should
