Games not recognized from EA app

I have bought both fc 25 and fc 24 and I have been playing fc 25 up until a few days ago. However, when i tried launching it today the EA app asked me to download the game but after verifying the program files and checking my pc's storage the FC 25 app is still installed. The same thing has happened with FC 24 even though i dont use it anymore. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the EA app as well as clearing cache through app recovery. I dont want to try deleting both and redownloading them since that will be extremely time wasting.
