Summarize your bug Whenever I install I wait 3 minutes for it to not do anything, then say "The EA app encountered an error and couldn't finish installing."
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I don't know, maybe fix the app or tell me what to do without wiping my system clean again.
What happens when the bug occurs? Nothing happens, just give me a "Send bug repot"
What do you expect to see? A finished install of the app.

I hope this'll help
others.
It shouldn't be happening.

I don't know if this'll work for anyone. But what I did was find the Origin folder in %ProgramData% and deleted it. Then restarted my computer and boom, just worked for some reason.

  • I logged into my Origin account today (Friday 02-17-2023) and received an EA App popup that blocked my access to the Origin client library forcing me to upgrade to

the EA App. I had to choice but to continue with the installation. I had no other programs running but I use a custom installation for my games since I have a LOT of

them on my Windows 10 Pro PC. The Origin Client was installed in the default installation location on C:\ When I continued the process to install the EA App I let it

install to the default folder location the installer presented during the first steps of the installation process. My actual games installation folder is on a separate drive

just as it has been for years on ALL of my computers. There should not have been ANY problems with the client upgrade!

The operation proceeded until the very last bit of empty progress bar was visible. Then the popup Error message that the EA App FAILED TO INSTALL!

Now I CAN NOT access ANY of my games or anything "Origin Client" related because the EA App installation REMOVED all of the Origin Client Program!

Is there a fix for this? Is there ANY news on this issue since it appears to have been happening since the EA App was released?

Has anyone found a way to correct this problem?

Is EA Games Support team on top of this problem?

I have far too much money invested in EA Games in my library to have this happen. I am sure I am NOT the only gamer with this issue and with significant investment

in games to make this a major problem to us.

    EA Support! HELP!!! ASAP!!!

That folder is actually your game library folder if it is the same folder I found in my progamdata folder.

Where you able to restore all of your game library with the EA App once it completed the installation?

I am presuming that this is what you meant when you said deleting the ProgramData folder seemed to

    fix the issue you had.

I just renamed the folder for now pending the results of my next attempt to install and initiate the EA App.

I guess we will see what happens. Or does not happen..

I really hope EA Support is on the ball over this so they can get it fixed as soon as possible even if it has

to be rolled back to Origin while they fix whatever is wrong with the EA App that is causing these failures.

I am going through withdrawal not being able to play my games!!! 😮

I wish I have had the EA app working i have 2 games that i would like to use seems how i have purchased them. I am new to the EA or the Origin app..sad thing is that when I finally was able to get the SIMS 3 starter pack disc and the SIMS 4 base disc it keeps wanting to install the origin app and the A app isn't finishing the last bit of the installation on to my laptop that has the requirements that is needed... so if there is away to get this issue fixed that would be great.  I did have the app working until the app did its own update and not a thing has went right sice that happened, please help!!

  • I click the installer, a black box appears nothing happens until windows tells me it's not responding. I've tried a fresh download, restarting, creating a ea folder and running the installer as an administrator and none of those works. It's also ridiculously hard to find help, with most of the suggestions so far being completely unrelated. Can some one help me please.

    Huawei laptop

    Windows 11

AMD processor Ryzen 7 (should be powerful enough)

Also what's the storage requirement please?
