Ok so ran into this problem in around Dec 9, 2022 and was helped on it but on 2/8/23 it returned.
I have been on Origin since 4/26/14 and I may not be the best player and had no problems with Origin .
Now I payed for my games to play on Origin and now cant access what I own because EA app Pop up has me hostage
its either you install or no play. This should be optional not FORCED. :/ As for tech support the inquire form limits time and what you can write it will not allow me to ask properly.
Someone PLEASE HELP !
I too would like to go back to Origin. I clicked the install app but it failed. and it has continued to fail all day, I have windows 11 and I am reading other people having the same troubles. So i can not play any games. I just purchased 40 dollars worth of games yesterday and now I can not play them. This is really frustrating and there seems to be no tech support to help out.
Oh but they seems to have some Badge bullcrap set nicely for going on forums. I dont need that dumb crap of badging we all need actual help .
In my case right now my main game is bf4 I was able to log in on web BUT still cant play this is r3tard3d
So apparently they don't care to block you off your games purchased to play on Origin. What's the point of buying the games if they decide you cant access them.
to switch a different supposed lighter faster yet has a bunch of bugs .
I cant believe there is a legal way to fight this, its ridicules . How hard is it to explain . I own the games right so WHY cant I use them. * take the POP UP OFFF.
On top I cant even access my game Codes/KEY that I own to see if I can go to steam .I read it requires connecting to EA server which are down every other day many report
Now need a way to get my money back for the few game I PIAD that I cant access.

Rainbow Six /Ubisoft
Origin is working again for me. They must have turned it back on. I hope they will fix the EA App before they try that again.
i've never gotten the prompt until today
I had version
10.5.118.52644
installed, but had a blackout, didn't backup the program folder (which is on a drive without windows snapshots) before trying to launch it
Note: since the thin installer has to use internet to download the latest version, it's no use keeping old versions of the thin setup
and the upgrade prompt seems to not be related to origin version, but instead a push notification as origin is a browser app of sorts (except unlike a browser, you can't inspect element)
ea app doesn't show all my addons properly still (namely nfs payback not showing I have the speedcross pack)
unfortunately still forcing me to install ea app/the popup is taking over
really annoying that you can't CLOSE the thing
