How do I bypass the EA App and access Origin to play games.

well, I restarted my computer and whatever I did is still making origin work fine without the popup

so either I'm lucky or something I did is working in my favour

a quick recap on my situation

1. I have installed EA App through the origin prompt and ran it at least once before I later uninstalled it

2. I've reinstalled origin and restored (with origin and services not running) the program data, local and roaming app data folders for origin to their pre-popup states

3. Origin web helper service is not running despite it being automatic

4. Origin program folder has been manually restored to 10.5.118.52644 (along with everything that was there before EA App uninstalled it) with the thing downloaded from akamaihd plus my own backups

5. api1.origin.com is redirected to local host/blocked using the computer's hosts file

Windows 7 64-bit in Australia with origin 'set' to en_AU which is unsupported and thus defaults to en_US
