How do I bypass the EA App and access Origin to play games.

Is it now common that origin can no longer be used at all?

I tried to play the sims 4 which i haven't for many months and now origin did update and i can't do anything but press the damend install button for the useless ea app.

Why useless? Well you can't even change the clients install location at all which i dunno is basic for almost all other progromms in existenc for quite many years already and it can even manage that one slight problem.
