Actually made acc just for this... they dont work out of the box. But if you didn't uninstall old origin (miracle I managed to achieve - im not really sure if new EA app installer kills it or not) there is folder you need to keep (at least it worked for me, maybe could work with new install?) -> LocalContent from following clear origin cache guide.
If you downloaded origin installer it will try to install EA app. Close it completely (task manager) after "installing" origin, do not install EA app... Only thing needed to tinker with there and then ( in "%ProgramData%") is local.xml file! You need to add entry: <Setting value="true" key="MigrationDisabled" type="1"/> and modify <Setting type="1" value="false" key="AutoPatchGlobal"/> <Setting type="1" value="false" key="AutoUpdate"/> (i had copy of LocalContent folder so not really sure if it will work without it).. put local.xml in read only and do not delete it.
You can clear the Origin Cache by following the steps below: Completely log out and close down Origin Hold down the Windows key and R Type in "%ProgramData%" (without quotes) and click OK Now open the Origin folder. Delete all the files and folders in the Origin folder, except for LocalContent (do not delete this one) Hold down the Windows key and R Type in "%AppData%" (without quotes) and click OK This will take you to a Roaming folder, which is located inside of AppData. Delete the Origin folder Click on the word "AppData" at the top of your window Open the Local folder here Delete the Origin folder listed here Restart your PC and log back into Origin
